    Samina was born and raised in Manchester, United Kingdom. She has two children, who also attend Ajman Academy. Samina graduated with a BSc (Hons) Degree from the University of Salford and later graduated with a PGCE from the Manchester Metropolitan University. Samina first began teaching in 2009 at the Manchester College and then moved to the UAE, with her family in August 2013. Samina joined Ajman Academy in 2015 as a Business Studies Teacher and at present is also the CIS Accreditation Co-ordinator.
    Samina is passionate about teaching and firmly believes that every child has the right to an education in a fun, safe and positive learning environment. She further believes that teaching is a profession, which enables her to positively influence, educate and enrich students to the best of their ability.

    Mohammed Graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in the field of Business and computing. He later completed a Post Graduate Diploma in TEFL and Linguistics.
    A firm believer in education, Mohammed believes that students have a right to self-development and should be provided with the opportunity to realise their own potential.
    Throughout Mohammed's career, he has believed that enjoyment leads to passion. Therefore it is fundamental to his teaching ethos that all students gain a passion for learning, through enjoying their education.
    This passion will lead students to achieve individual learning goals and achieve personal success. He believes that the key to this success is ensuring that all students learn in a safe and nurturing environment while ensuring that each student is ambitiously challenged to achieve their goals.

    Darren was born in Perth, Western Australia. He is married to Adele and has two teenaged children, Nikita and Thomas. He attended Edith Cowan University in Perth and graduated in 1986 with a Diploma of teaching. Darren went on to further educational studies with a Bachelor of Education, Graduate Diploma of Arts in Religious Education and more recently in 2006 a Master of Education.
    Darren has been fortunate enough to have been involved in Elementary education for 30 years and has worked in three states within Australia as a teacher and administrator. Darren has had leadership roles as a Deputy Principal and has had 16 years as a principal in four different primary schools in Australia. In 2017, Darren and Adele extended their teaching horizons moving to Ajman Academy, their first International teaching position.
    Darren has developed many skills over the years and particularly enjoys working with other teachers in the field of coaching and mentoring and believes in a collaborative approach to education.
    In his spare time, Darren enjoys tennis, golf, hiking, cycling, travelling and spending time with his family.

    Andrew, from Melbourne, Australia, has taught for the last five years at Ajman Academy. Immediately, before this, he taught for six years in Muscat, Oman. Andrew is married to Gabby, PA to the Secondary School Principal.

 Andrew’s professional qualifications include: Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of Education, Masters of Education and he has completed the coursework for his Doctorate in Education. He taught with the Victorian Education Department for some 30 years, as well as for one year in the UK in 2005.
    It was that teaching experience in England that convinced him to try the international teaching scene. From 2008 to 2014, he taught in two international schools in Muscat, where he taught the English National Curriculum, IGCSE, the IB Diploma Program and A-levels.

Andrew's teaching philosophy is simple: he likes to develop both a positive learning experience and a rapport with his students. In the first instance in the classroom, but also through the co-curricula in such pursuits as school productions. He thoroughly enjoys being a part of the team at Ajman Academy.
    In his free time, Andrew is an avid walker, loves live theatre, test cricket, watching his AFL team play as well as spending time with family and friends.

    Gillian was born and raised in Limerick, Ireland. After graduating from university, she began her ventures across the globe and has travelled as far as New Zealand, China, Fiji, and most recently the Middle East.
    Gillian graduated from University College Cork in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Sociology. After a 5-year break, she returned to university to undertake a Master’s degree in English in 2012. Upon completion of her studies, Gillian took up a teaching position in the United Arab Emirates working for the International School of Choueifat in Ras Al Khaimah. Since 2014, she has taught across Key Stages 2-5. She has recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Secondary Education with the University of Sunderland.
    Gillian believes education should focus on character development just as much as on academic improvement. A child’s time in school should be an enjoyable and engaging one, and it is the role of the teacher to provide an environment that achieves this outcome. Gillian consistently aims to create a learning environment that encourages students to find their voice and to be comfortable in expressing their perspectives in a scholarly fashion.

    Charmaine was born and raised in sunny South Africa. She speaks English and Afrikaans and is passionate about nature and wildlife.
    She obtained a BEd: SF and FET degree from the University of South Africa. She taught English, Geography and Math at two different high schools in South Africa and was an Academic Quality Controller at the International School of Choueifat for three years.
    Charmaine believes that when you teach, you touch the future.
    She strongly agrees with Nelson Mandela’s view on education – “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.”

    Fiona Hillier is from Australia. She grew up in suburban Melbourne with her parents, brother and sister. After her schooling, she attended Victoria University where she finished her Bachelor of Education. Fiona then went on to complete a post-graduate diploma in Home Economics and Health education.
    Before moving to the UAE, she previously worked at Billanook College, where she met her partner Hayden (Head of PE Department at Ajman Academy) and a Government secondary school, teaching Food Technology.
    Fiona thoroughly enjoys teaching food technology to students as it provides them skills for life and they can go on to develop interests in food and nutrition. Outside of school Fiona enjoy meeting new people, exploring different places, travelling, shopping and eating at different restaurants.

    Adele was born in Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom, and has also lived in Zambia, South Africa with her family. Adele graduated from Edith Cowan University in Perth in 1986 with a Diploma of Teaching. Adele also holds a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Public Relations and a Minor in Education. She has since spent many years living and teaching in Australia. Adele is married to Darren and has two teenage children, Nikita and Thomas.
    This is Adele’s first International posting, joining Ajman Academy in 2017. Adele has taught all year levels across the Elementary school in Western Australia, Queensland and Victoria in Australia, with over 25 years of teaching experience. She has a passion for teaching younger children and has a strong interest in improving children’s literacy. Adele has relished the challenge of teaching different curriculums and working with new teachers, parents and students. Her strength lies in her ability to communicate easily and effectively with people, and in wanting to get to know them at both a professional and more personal level.
    Her passion is travel, and Adele has a thirst for exploring new places and for meeting new people! She has a love of dance and music. Adele enjoys walking, swimming, zumba, yoga and pilates. As a result of travel, she has developed a love of photography.

    Sadiya was born and grew up in Bristol, which is a City located in the South West of England. She is married and has two children who both attend Ajman Academy.
    Sadiya graduated from the University of the West of England in 2010 with a BD in Education in Professional Practice. Her speciality is working with English as an Additional Language Learners.
    Sadiya has a firm belief embedded in hard work and striving to do the best possible no matter what the role. Being a parent herself enables Sadiya to see the child from a holistic perspective - catering for all their needs and not just academically. This has helped her to form firm and long lasting friendships with her students as well as develop positive partnerships with their parents who are crucial. Although Sadiya has taught from the American perspective, she values the role of the EYFS 2014 which is firmly rooted in child centre practice. This, in turn, has enabled her to develop both sets of the curriculum as well as helped her to meet the needs of the individual child. Child-centred practice is at the forefront of her teaching but at the same time realising that the role of the team is only as effective as its members.
    In her spare time, Sadiya likes to spend time with her children doing various activities, from baking at home to numerous outdoor activities.

    Sinead was born in Belfast, Ireland. Sinead attended the University of Ulster at Jordanstown, just outside Belfast and graduated in 2012, with honours in Language and Linguistics. She then pursued her love of travelling and moved to Qatar to teach for five years in The International School of Choueifat and completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Education, with the University of Sunderland, England. Sinead then moved to the UAE in 2017 to teach in Ajman Academy.
    Sinead loves to see the development of students, from the beginning of the year to the final day. To watch a child, expand their fountain of knowledge and for their confidence to grow so they can use it, is the reason she became a teacher.

    Tamara was born and raised in Jordan. She graduated from Jordan University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy. Tamara has worked in Jordan for two years, and in UAE for six years. She has been in the UAE since 2012 and has worked at Al Mawakeb School in Dubai. She is married and has one daughter.
    Tamara has the potential to understand and apply different teaching methods. She can motivate and inspire students to be able to succeed. She can take care of their health and safety and nourish their knowledge and understanding.

    Amber is from Houston, Texas, USA. She graduated from Stephen F Austin University with a Bachelor Degree in Education and Communication. She has worked in the US, China and the UAE. She moved to Shanghai, China in 2010 and worked at Yew Chung International School and Shanghai Livingston American School in various roles as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher, First Grade and Primary Department Leader. Amber moved to the UAE in 2016 where she has worked at Ajman Academy in both Grades One and Two and currently is the Grade Two Leader and Read, Write, Inc. Coordinator. She has two sons in secondary at AJAC.
    Amber feels all children deserve to have equal opportunities in their education and strives to challenge all students. She believes in a fun and exciting learning environment for all.

    Mrs Kedhuri was born and raised in South Africa. She achieved her Bachelor of Education degree at Edgewood University in Kwa- Zulu Natal. After completing two years of teaching in South Africa, she ventured out to work in UAE and taught at an International School in Sharjah. She has since gone on to teach at several primary schools around the UAE. She now has eight years of teaching experience and enjoys encouraging her students to expand their boundaries to developing critical thinking skills further.
    Mrs. Kedhuri’s inclusive approach to teaching ensures that all children work at their best ability and move forward throughout each lesson efficiently. She is a dedicated, hard-working person; who is am enthusiastic to be in this profession and is proud to be working at Ajman Academy.
  • Zeina Monzer

    Zeina started teaching in 2012 after completing a B.Sc degree in Chemistry at York University in Toronto, Canada and moved to the UAE. For five years, she taught Science and Mathematics at a well-known school in the UAE from Grades 2 - 7 and provided special classes to students who were struggling in those two subjects during lunchtime as extra help. By 2016, with only four years of solid teaching experience, she completed a Teacher Preparation Program in Washington, DC, USA and received an official American teaching license and teaching certificate.

    Being fully certified to teach, she joined Ajman Academy in 2017, and can honestly say it was one of the best decisions she has ever made! She loves being a part of a teaching staff that provides such creative, engaging and immersive learning experiences for the children in our school. Zeina thoroughly enjoys working alongside the dedicated and happy staff, not to mention, the wonderful students and parents that are a part of the AJAC family.

    Lina was born in Belgrade, Serbia where she spent her childhood. After that, she moved to Syria with her family. She speaks three languages fluently; Serbian, English and Arabic. Lina is married and has a daughter who has graduated from Ajman Academy and a son who is in the Secondary School in Ajman Academy. Lina graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor Degree in English Literature. She has also graduated from North America Montessori Center, Canada in 2013 with an International Montessori Teaching Diploma for Lower Elementary. Lina worked as a Montessori Teacher for five years, and as an IB Teacher for six years. Lina joined Ajman Academy in 2013; she taught different grade levels from Pre-Kg to Grade 6.
    Lina loves spending time with her family and friends, she also loves being in the classroom with her pupils. She enjoys jogging and horseback riding. Lina is very passionate about teaching and strongly believes in Differentiation and Inquiry-based curriculum. She also believes that every teacher can make a difference.
