Meet our new Secondary Principal

Mr Colin brings a dedicated career of high academic achievement and widespread experience within education to his position of secondary principal, Ajman Academy.

Initially a teacher of French in the north of England, Mr Colin moved offshore to become Head of Modern Foreign Languages at Guernsey Grammar School in the Channel Islands. A move into the island’s Education Authority offices saw Mr Colin develop education management experience as the Professional Development Manager, working closely with 30+ primary/ secondary schools and their Leadership Teams.

After completing his Masters in Management, Mr Colin joined Deira International School, Dubai, as a teacher of IG and IB Economics and with a responsibility for whole school professional development. Promotion to Deputy Principal across both the Primary and Secondary Schools saw Mr Colin play a key developmental role within the notable school improvement journey recognised officially by the KHDA inspection processes. Areas of focus included professional development, teacher performance, learning & teaching and school inspection/ accreditation.

Mr Colin’s qualifications include a Master’s degree in Management and HR (MSc) Professional Membership status of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CM-CIPD), Post-graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and a BA Honours degree in French.

Away from school, Mr Colin values family time, enjoys sport, relaxes with his Kindle and appreciates so much of what the UAE has to offer.
